Welcome to the Blog for History 340 at the University of Kansas for the Spring of 2008. The instructor is Lon Strauss. This blog will be a forum for the students in this course. Make this space your own. We may not always have time for discussion in class. This blog is the space for you to debate/discuss/brainstorm your ideas about the lectures, the readings, your presentations, and the Second World War in general.

Rules

Students are required to post on the class blog every week. This is a supplement to discussion for class. What to post on the blog: One major requirement is that students must be analytical in their postings. Write about your insights regarding the readings and lectures, as well as questions that you have regarding any of the material. You must post your own thoughts, as well as comments and responses on at least two other students’ posts.

After each presentation, students will have forty-eight hours to write at least a two-paragraph response on Blackboard, in addition to the regular postings. Write about: How did the presentation enhance your understanding of the topic and the war overall; what your thoughts or observations were on the presentation or the material; and any lingering questions that you might have.
