The Phoney War
Interesting that the war was declared in September although Germany did not even attack until April. It baffles me that because of Germany's decision to wait, things worked out in their advantage. I am aware that all the unnessecary cries of "wolf" worked in their advantage, but I do not believe it a valid excuse of the ill preparation for the first attack. With the knowledge of there being an attack in the future, they should have been ready for something to happen. It was pretty obvious that Germany was planning to do something.

I think that Britain and France were deceiving themselves, hoping that Germany would be satisfied with the eastern portion of Europe. The losses sustained during the first World War clearly lessened their desire to wage war, and I think they may have assumed that the German people felt the same way.
I think it was funny how nieve France and Britian were for thinking that Hitler was content with his capturing of Poland. They should have developed a far more severe sense of urgency that would have attributed to their preperation for the inevitable war with the German Military. I truly think that they felt that this was not as big a deal as it should have been viewed as.
