OPERATION OVERLORD

It is amazing to me how the Allies were able to deceive the Germans into believing that there would be an attack on Pays de Calais rather than Normandy.  The fact that the Germans were surprised is a true commendation to the commanders and troops of the Allied forces as they landed the largest amphibious assault of the war at Normandy.

I was amazed at this deception as well. I love that the Allies were able to pull it off. I think that says a lot about what they had already learned throughout the war. They still had a lot to learn but this deception is definately worthy of commendation.

I also was amazed and thought it was incredible that they were able to pull this off. Probably the biggest deciet ever.

I think it is also important to credit the force in Italy for drawing some attention. Most people forget that Rome fell jsut a few days later; along with the deception, this made Overlord a success.
