Donald Duck Cartoon
I found the Donald Duck cartoon to be very funny. It is interesting what goes on during war time. I like how they had a Japanese and Itailian person in the Nazi band. The picture they were trying to portray is very interesting and to think that Walt Disney made the cartoon adds to it. I wonder how well this cartoon worked. Did people want to go out and fight the Nazis after watching this cartoon? Why doesn't the U.S. government make movies like this now for the war in Iraq?

I think it is important to remember that all sides during the war used propaganda. Often we see the negative ads by Germans to make people look at the Allies in a negative way. But everyone was doing this and this was evident by the cartoons we saw today in class.
I agree with Matt about understanding the sides of propoganda. However, I bet the axis powers did not have walt disney cartoons to portray negative propoganda. Amateurs.
That was a good cinema caricature of the Nazis. This is another area that I found interesting through taking this class. I was never aware of the extent of the Allied forces putting so much effort in propoganda of their own being directed against the Nazis.
I don’t think that in today’s world that the US government could get away with the type of propaganda like in WWII. This is because I do not think people would tolerate the making fun of the other countries with the stereotypes like the cartoon did. Moreover, I think people are less trusting of the government and would see right through it.
