Nimitz

Admiral Chester Nimitz seems like he was an intersting military leader. I like most about him that he was a great strategist who specialized in logistical planning. His ability to plan what would happen in both the south and north Pactific enabled the United States forces to win the ware in the Pactific.
I think it is further intersting how Nimitz was the opposite of McCarthur. Nimitz was a calm and collected person who was not nearly as artciulate as the personality of McCarthurs was.

Nimitz was articulate and intelligent but not self-centered and as boisterous as MacArthur. Mac always seemed to crave popularity, while Nimitz was satisfied with just doing the job right. That is why today, not many things are named after MacArthur while tons of things and ships are named after Nimitz.

Nimitz was most importantly MacArthur's opposite. This helped the two work together so well. Nimitz wanted to be successful, and MacArthur wanted to be more popular and important. From what I have learned so far, Nimitz is one of the best military leaders of this time.
