The Pacific

So we've seen the Battles of Midway and Guadalcanal. It is absolutely incredible the way the US (which was unskilled, poorly trained, and poorly supplied) showed incredible tenacity. How many times was Henderson Airfield rebuilt? They were sick, they were malnourished and yet they persevered.

I agree, the U.S. drive demonstrated the heart and resolve to get the “W”

After hearing about the Japanese force that the United States was up against I was really astonished that the US came out the victor. They definately surpassed the expectations of the Japanese overcame great odds.

in regards to Midway-as mentioned in class (as well as the movie from the 70's) America's wasn't particularly better than the Japanese at that point in the war, but luckier that our planes spotted the Japanese fleet first and fortunate enough to attack while their planes were on the carrier decks reloading and rearming do to a delayed decision from the Japanese commander
